ABOUT ME
I'm Ainsley Munro: a community builder, program coordinator,
and artist living in Toronto, Canada.
I've built my career on bringing community projects to life with the people and places that create them.
I focus my career energy on building relationships between people who might not otherwise meet and working on collective projects that engage and empower our communities.
My most recent work involved overseeing the recruitment, coordination, and ongoing support for 70 international volunteers working with the Iona Community in Scotland, ensuring they felt well-connected to the organization, its work, and one another through daily activities and organized social gatherings. I've previously worked with the Centre for Social Innovation, the David Suzuki Foundation, Katimavik, The Otesha Project in Canada and the UK, the government of Canada and the Toronto District School board.
In my spare time you'll find me exploring a new neighbourhood, enjoying a pastry and tea at a local cafe, or working on community arts and theatre projects.
CORE VALUES
KINDNESS
I treat everyone I encounter with empathy and respect. I'm a big believer in karma and good deeds travelling long distances.
CURIOSITY
Being curious about the world is what fuels me. I take every opportunity to learn as much about places stories, and people as I can.
AUTHENTICITY
Being my genuine self with friends and strangers results in better connections and more open, meaningful relationships.
COLLABORATION
Everyone has something to offer - I empower people to align their unique gifts with the world's needs.
CREATIVITY
I love turning problems upside-down, seeing how they tick, and building custom solutions that fit their unique situations.
COURAGE
I don't want to waste a single moment regretting a lost opportunity. I use fear and passion to decide which things are worth chasing.
